We had a great 2017 season in the Liverpool League with both Ladies and Men teams winning silverware and promotions!
Our Ladies’ first team finished 2nd in division A, our second team battled hard in the same A division but were unfortunately relegated and our third team WON division E earning them promotion and a trophy!
The Mens first team had another hard season in division A and were unfortunate to get relegated, our second team WON the division E trophy and earned another promotion (3 years running) and our third team also earned promotion up to division G.
All our teams are raring to get their shoes back on court and freshly gripped rackets in their hand for the 2018 season…but would YOU like to join us? Go on, why not! Click on the JOIN US link to find out how.

Although targeted for beginners mainly there is still lots to benefit from for the better player too including stretching techniques, practice methods and some theory to help set your mind on the game.
Call him on 07960 305162 just to let him know you want to take part.

We entered 2 teams in to the Wirral Winter League for the first time this year. This was intended as a chance to give our players some practice over the quiet winter months of 2016/17 and get our club name out there across the other side of the Mersey. Our captain was determined and put out a good mix of strong players with those that wanted some match practice. The results are in…and both teams won their league!
Sunday 17th July sees the return of the Great British Tennis Weekend events at the Mersey Bowmen, so we hope you’ll be coming down to join in?!
Bring your friends, acquaintances and any physios you happen to work with – they always seem to be good at tennis – for a day of:
• 10am-12pm: Tennis For Free (officially the busiest in the country now!)
• 12pm-2pm: Free social play for all-comers: young, old; handy or beginners; this is a chance to hop on court and try out some doubles, get a sense of the club and join in the fun
• 2pm-5pm: Social tennis for all. Not a member? Pay and play for a visitor’s fee of just £2.50 and see if you like it…
• A big fat 20% discount for anyone who joins our club on the day
It’s designed to give people a taste of tennis in the park – either with coaching at Tennis For Free, or social play after. So if you know anyone who’s ever cast a longing glance when you’ve mentioned the Bow, ask them along…
2016 Membership costs are:
Full adult membership: £130 JOIN for £104 on the day!
Concessions (unwaged, students, under 21s and country members): £65 JOIN for £52 on the day!

As ever, all volunteers, greeters and cake makers are welcomed. We need people to come down at 12 to play with and chat to potential new members, and generally show off the Bow experience. We’ve got all sorts of Great British Tennis booty on the way, so if you fancy joining in and nabbing a t-shirt or wristband, please email Danny for direction…
* While the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club might not agree, Mersey Bowmen’s Tennis For Free is now the best-attended programme in the country. Resounding proof indeed…
